Club Time Trials
Swimmers from all junior squads are encouraged to participate in these. They are run by the club and take place in training sessions 3 to 4 times a year. They aim to introduce swimmers to competition experience in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. The Diamond squad will also have the opportunity to partake in ‘Dash Nights’ which are held once a month.
Swimmers from all junior squads are encouraged to enter these. They are our official annual championships that take place at the end of each year; currently at Wellingborough pool. The age groups start from 8 years and under and go up to 15 years and over. The events swimmers can take part in depends upon their age. Swimmers need to enter the events they wish on a form with their times and the appropriate fee. Swimmers must be registered with the club and the ASA (Category 1) to enter.
The club enters several leagues with galas throughout the year. If your child is selected for one of these galas then you will be notified via email. Swimmers must be registered with the club and the ASA (Category 1 or 2 depending on the gala/league).
We would like to encourage swimmers from Development 1 upwards to enter recommended meets when appropriate. There are lots of different open meets across the country throughout the year. The club will inform parents of meets that we feel are appropriate for the club and the swimmers who we feel should enter. Swimmers will need to be ASA Category 2 registered.
To enter County, Midland and National Championships swimmers must meet certain qualifying times and be ASA Category 2 registered. The club will inform parents of when these are coming up to check their child’s times against the qualifying times.
The club will provide specific information regarding each competition as it approaches. For further information regarding open meets and ASA category memberships please see the relevant documents.
