Well done to everyone that swam and thanks to everyone that helped on poolside. It was a very tough gala against some very good opposition but this is to be expected in the 1st Division. It was very close all night between ourselves and Boston, unfortunately Boston just beat us at the end by 8 points, but there were some very close races. We couldnt have asked any more from our swimmers as there were 20 PB's achieved which is fantastic especially as it is only the beginning of October. Well done again.
Unfortunately due to illness before and during the evening the final team was very much weakened. But a big thankyou to everyone that stepped in at the last minuite Lauren Wykes (was moved from B team to A), Tiarnan Nelis who swam in the 200m IM Open and Adam Smith after just swimming the 100m Open Brst then did the 100m Open Free. Everyone gave 110% yet again. Even though only 3 PB's were achieved considering how much competative swimming our swimmers have been in the last few weeks with championships etc this is to be expected, also the swimmers must remember that from the first round of the National League which was on the 10th Oct and the champs PB's have been coming thick and fast, so we were bound to see a slump in PB's especially with the older swimmers as they dont PB as often. We came 6th overall but alot of the races were very tight and could have gone either way. We achieved three 1st places, Gina Lockwood ladies 100m Open Free (also achieving a new club record), Aiden Lloyd 100m 13/u Free and the 13/u med relay (William Tremellen, Adam Roberts, Callum Fitzsimons, Aiden Lloyd), three 2nds and six 3rds. I shall be emailing out the team for the final round which is on the 12th Dec shortly so keep your eyes on your emails. We stand a very good chance staying in the 1st division this year which is a great achievement. Well done again to everyone that swam and thanks to everyone that helped on poolside.
This years Club Championships produced some fantastic results. Listed below are the club records which fell this time round. Well done to everyone involved.

Another club record was set by Aiden Lloyd at the Lincoln Vulcan Open Meet. Aiden swam a time of 2:18.45 in the 200m Freestyle. Well done Aiden
WOW!!! what a gala. I thought the first round at Wellingborough was good but this one topped it. Hopefully we can keep it going for the final (which I am sure we have qualified for in a very good position). Team spirit was electrifying beginning on the bus journey to the gala right through the gala and finishing on the bus journey home (including the inevitable and well deserved stop off at McDonalds where I must say the behaviour was fantastic). It was a very convincing win 52 points in front of 2nd position if my calculations are correct. We achieved 28 1st places and we never finished outside of the top 3 places all through the night. Amazingly our 9yr boys and girls won all their events and as did our 11yr girls and boys. We had five swimmers which achieved double vicotries in thier individuals and they were Maisie Green 11/u fly and back, Sarah Kings 11/u brst and free, Emma Turner 12/u free and fly, Dominic Whalley 10/u free and brst and Ryan Napier 11/u free and fly. Between them the swimmers produced 16 PB's the biggest PB coming from Reuben Tremellen in his 50m fly beating his previous PB by 3 secs. A special mention to Matthew Napier and Samantha Shiells who swam their first gala for Kettering and swam really well, well done. Thanks again to everyone that helped on poolside and to the parents for their support (next time maybe we shall get the lettering in the correct order at the start of the gala and not the end). Looking forward to the final on the 27th June!!!!
Firstly I would like to thank everyone that helped on poolside. Another successful gala, we came 2nd overall but came away with 19 PB's which was fantastic. We did pick up 6 time faults (TF) which is great for the swimmers as this means that they achieved PB's but not so good for the team as it meant that we didnt get any points for those events. A special mention to Ruth Warwick as this was her first gala for Kettering and swam really well and came away with one of the 6 1st places achieved in the 11/u 50m free so well done to her. The other victories came from the mixed 11/u 4 x 1 medley relay (Alice Sharman, Oliver Moisey, Maisie Green and Sean Marshall), Kate Buckley 13/u 50m free, Hannah Marshall 13/u 50m brst, Maisie Green 14+ 100m Fly and Charlotte Peterson-Buckley 14+ 100m Brst. Well done to all the swimmers and thanks again to everyone that helped on poolside.
